Many of our patients inquire about Invisalign for cosmetic purposes. It is a convenient and effective way to achieve a more attractive smile. Improving the alignment of your smile can have a number of positive health effects.

A properly aligned, straighter smile can make it easier to keep your teeth clean and avoid gum disease. Properly aligned teeth are also easier to restore with fillings, dental implants, dental crowns, veneers, and bridges should this become necessary.

A comprehensive exam with Dr. Soto will help us determine if Invisalign will be effective to treat your condition.

Your initial Invisalign evaluation will include a full set of digital x-rays as well as digital images to assist with treatment planning. This treatment plan will outline the length and cost of the Invisalign treatment so that you have a clear idea of what to expect.

The impressions and 3-D images will provide the blueprint for custom Invisalign aligners. These aligners are made of a smooth, BPA-free plastic.

Shorter treatment time using “Stimulation”

Dr. Soto is certified to provide stimulation to qualified Invisalign patients that send a vibration on a cellular level to the roots of the teeth and expedites tooth movement. Hence shortens the time of your Invisalign treatment and many of our patients can change aligners every 5-7 days versus the traditional every two weeks. This cuts treatment time in half. In our office, the average case takes six months to 12 months depending on the complexity of the cases.

Invisalign Guidelines

To get the best results from your Invisalign aligners, you should wear them for a minimum of 22 hours each day throughout your treatment. You can remove them to eat, so you don’t have to worry about avoiding certain foods. Cleaning your Invisalign aligners is simple and best done at the same time you brush your teeth. All you have to do is brush them and rinse them in lukewarm water. 

Approximately every two weeks, you will change to a new set of Invisalign aligners. Dr. Soto will see you for periodic follow-up exams to make sure your treatment stays on track. 

Because Invisalign is so convenient, you will complete your treatment before you know it and spend the rest of your life enjoying your new smile! Wearing an orthodontic retainer will keep your teeth from drifting back to their original location, so be sure to wear it diligently!

CAN I GO TO ANY DENTIST OR ORTHODONTIST FOR INVISALIGN TREATMENT?

Many orthodontists and dentists are Invisalign-trained doctors, but not all are. Doctors who want to offer Invisalign treatment must complete specialized training. Here at Smile Institute we are among the top percentage of doctors who offer Invisalign.

HOW IS INVISALIGN TREATMENT DIFFERENT THAN OTHER TEETH STRAIGHTENING OPTIONS?
Invisalign treatment is the most advanced clear aligner system in the world, backed by more than two decades of innovation. Unlike braces, Invisalign clear aligners are removable and virtually invisible. There are no wires and brackets, so you don’t need to change the way you brush and floss. And, you can continue to eat all your favorite foods.
CAN INVISALIGN WORK FOR ME?

ARE THERE ANY RESTRICTIONS ON WHAT I CAN EAT WHILE IN TREATMENT?
None! Invisalign clear aligners are removable, so there are no food restrictions at all (hello popcorn!). With traditional wires and brackets, there’s a long list of foods you unfortunately can’t enjoy because they can damage or get stuck in your braces.
WHAT IS THE TREATMENT PROCESS?

Invisalign treatment starts with a consultation with an Invisalign-trained doctor. Your doctor will evaluate your smile and then map out a precise, customized digital treatment plan that showcases the step-by-step transformation of your smile. Once you approve your plan, your unique aligners will be created. You will wear each set of aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day, changing to a new set of aligners every one to two weeks, as directed by your doctor. Each set of aligners will gently and gradually shift your teeth into place, according to your treatment plan, until you reach your beautiful new smile.

HOW LONG DOES THE INVISALIGN TREATMENT TAKE?
Depending on the complexity of your case, you could complete your treatment in as little as 6 months. But you’ll start seeing results in a matter of weeks.
IS INVISALIGN MORE EXPENSIVE THAN BRACES?
Invisalign treatment typically costs about the same as braces.
WILL MY INSURANCE COVER INVISALIGN TREATMENT?
Many dental insurance plans cover Invisalign treatment the same way they cover braces. Your insurance may pay for a certain percentage of your Invisalign treatment, or it may pay for a certain dollar amount.
